Another great book to the series. This one took me on a roller coaster of thoughts and emotions toward each character! I came to really like some new characters, and question my like for others. I loved seeing and learning about the Night Court/Court of Nightmares the Rhys rules over. And his friends...I liked them all. Lucien disappointed me in this one. And others even more so. But I can't say why so go read the book, then we can talk *grins*.

This book is much deeper and more interconnected than the first book by far and really enriches the lands of Prythian and the mortal realm.

One thing that I will say is that I cannot see this as a young adult novel. Way too much sexual content. And not vague mentioning either. I've read books deemed erotica that are tamer than a couple scenes in here. If you are going to write a sex scene in YA keep it a bit more vague. Many younger readers that are in middle school (maybe even elementary) are known for picking up YA for a bit more of a challenge. I would hate for my 10-15 year old to read this! Feyre is 20 in this, the other characters even older (WAY older mostly lol) so lose the YA part.

Otherwise great book and I am eager to continue to the next book.

2021- So having read the story I really focused more on things between Tamlin/Feyre and Rhys/Feyre. The thoughts, emotions and subtleties... I have so many mixed thoughts.

I still find it strange how one minute this book has an older feel to it (happening centuries ago) but then some words, rooms, items mentioned make it feel too modern and it jars me.

The age differences and how long grudges can last amaze me. Like hating someone for hundreds of years is insane! Like, move on with your lives. At least those in the Night Court seem to try.

Rhys and Mor I loved and want so much more of their characters! Amren is such a mystery still but I really like her and Azriel and Cassian are awesome. Lucien disappointed me a bit, constantly acting like a cowed dog being scolded.

2022- FULL CAST AUDIOBOOK. Mor was a fast voice favorite for me. Whomever they got to voice her is fantastic. Certain scenes and sound effects though had me blushing and disturbed. WAY to vivid with the backround noises, moans, licks, etc. Feyre still sounded a bit whiny and exasperated instead on angry at times. I wanted to feel a bit more edge in her voice and that didn't happen. This type of audio really does actually enhance the story and paints a better picture in your head. ...more

Holy shit. This book was absolutely amazing.

After reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, I left feeling very underwhelmed. The ending was great, Rhysand was perfect, but I absolutely hated Tamlin. The romance just didn't feel real to me.
But this? Comparing this to the first installment of the series is a damn insult considering how much better ACOMAF is.
