Andrew Clements really kept this interesting and reallistic. If it was a series, I would have devoured it in a few days.

This is an unusual and insightful story about a young boy who suddenly finds himself invisible. The narrative is a good length and maturity level for middle school (and older elementary school) children and the subject about being invisible (literally and metaphorically) to parents and other students in school is a valuable topic for discussion.

Overall, I thought the story was dramatic and engaging and we all really enjoyed reading it (some together, but most of it independently). This book was

Boy, I didn’t like this book! Bobby wakes up invisible one morning. He looks at himself in the mirror after his morning shower and says: “I’m. Not. There.” (1) Maybe this might have made a readable short story, but as a novel: I. Didn’t. Care.

Except about one two thing (s)— Bobby's new friend Alicia is blind and that is handled sensitively. She feels invisible, because people don't see her, so she relates to Bobby's issue. Bobby and his new friend Alicia talk about the books they’ve read a lot.

A pretty good YA novel exploring the premise of what would happen if a teenage boy woke up invisible. I thought it was well thought out and the problems that arise are realistic. I didn't realize that this was a trilogy and I'm not sure I loved it enough to move on to the next one...we'll see. ...more
