This is a very good book that really challenges our perception of what secondary school should offer to our children and how best to prepare them for college and the workplace. It offers strong criticism of the "No Child Left Behind" Act and insists that the curriculum that's been taught for the last 50 years is no longer adequate in today's fast-paced technologically saturated world.

Everyone needs to read this book - teachers, parents, principals, school board members, CEOs, govenors, Congressmen and women, even the president of the United States! This book is so inspiring! I can't wait to try to delve deeper into making changes in my own classroom to promote the survival skills kids need in the 21st century.

I have pages and pages of notes from this book (it is borrowed), but my two favorite quotes are:
