This is the second book in the How to Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. We've watched the movie and our girls were excited to learn that the movies were based on these books.

I definitely preferred the second novel of the series to the first. Perhaps it was because it was untainted by the movie, but I actually think it had more to do with the stronger friendship between Hiccup and Toothless.

book 2 in the series shows Hiccup realizing some stuff about himself while fighting with swords, finding himself at the bottom of the sea, and finding a cave filled with treasure.
