This fourth book in the story of Vastia picks up with a celebration of both the Familiars' successful resolution of the rebellion, and the birth anniversary of the human queen. This is the fourth book in The Familiars series by Adam Jay Epstein. Our oldest really likes this series and I read the books to try to keep up with her.
One passage reminded me of Jonathan London's Froggy. In those tales, Froggy always ends up more red in the face than green; in this one, "Gilbert's cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment, even through the green." (p. 20)
