Beautiful short stories. Those of you following my reviews no I'm not really a short story fan because I never really become absorbed into the story as I do with full length stories. Jhumpa breaks that barrier for me. Her stories grab me and pull me in. Each story is extremely satisfying and I feel like I learn so much from each story as well.

Lahiri definitely deserved that Pulitzer! Each story brought me into the minds and hearts of the characters, and gave me a new understanding of the immigrant experience- the emotional, cultural and social hardships one faces as a stranger in a strange land.
i really enjoyed the different stories in this book, though many of them were quite depressing.
Never made it past the first story, which was the second saddest thing ever!
Wonderful collection stories, from a point of view that is new to me
I absolutely LOVED some of these stories, but some were a bit meh.
