This is an entertaining story about a kid who just wants to be funny...and normal. We listened to Frankie Seratch narrate the story on audio CD during a weekend road trip.
We were on the last disk when we got to our location, so I had to finish the story by reading the book - I just couldn't wait for the return trip to hear the ending. Funny thing is that our girls did the same thing. We still finished listening to the rest of the story on our way home.

James Patterson always a bit of a dark twist in his kids' books. This is no exception. While the theme of a kid comedian goes a long way to lighten most of this book, there is still an underlying sadness in the story. The jokes were super corny, but I am interested in how middle schoolers would view them.
