A nice story and pleasant read that flows along nicely but nothing too spectacular. Like her brothers before her, Maggie transitions from homeschooling to public school when she enters high school. Never having friends outside of her family before (what the heck? homeschooling doesn't mean never meeting non-family members. was she actually a shut-in?), Maggie is all nervous about making friends, but she ends up doing just fine. And she isn't making friends with just boys, so I don't know what's ...more

The art was great, and I appreciate some of the emotions of the story, but I feel like a few of the story elements were still unresolved at the end.

I was beginning to think that graphic novels just weren't for me. I read a few I really wanted to like, but it just wasn't happening. Then I found Friends with Boys at the library and I really enjoyed it.

It was a fun mix of realistic fiction and paranormal. The story was good and the graphics were great. I would certainly love to see more graphic novels like this.
