I loved the combination of past and present in this dramatic graphic novel set in Nova Scotia, Canada. The storylines are very different, yet tie in together at the end.
The black and white illustrations are very nicely detailed and the characters are very expressive. I admit that occasionally I had to do a double take to make sure I was tracking which time frame was being represented. I think that was done on purpose to show the the similarities between the generations.

Wow. This was a great, clean read for teens who like graphic novels, or want to give graphic novels a try. There are complex characters, a treasure hunt, beautiful illustrations, and romantic intrigue.
