This book was amazing. So well written and researched. I haven't read a book this good since the Time Travelers Wife. It's one of those books where when you're reading it and after you finish, you don't ever want to turn the tv on because you want to spend all of your time reading wonderful books that enlighten and inspire you. I don't like the circus (and part of why I hate them, along with zoos, is solidified in this book) but I loved this book. Clown haters don't have to worry. None are menti

This would have been a pretty quick read, but other books took up my reading time. I liked it, was inclined to like Ito because of the author's association with NaNoWriMo, but I definitely lost interest at points. I wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars... It didn't take long. It was a decent diversion, but this is not a great book. Don't believe the hype. Implausibility piles up like waves and you will grit your teeth thinking "no, this is original; this is cool." Like I said, it won't take but a couple hours to read and you will be mildly entertained, but this is not a great book.

I didn't know what to expect when reading this book. I'm always drawn to books that have a good review or a lot of positive feedback. This one did not disappoint.

I loved this book. Set amidst a traveling circus in the 1930s, it's got it all: romance, intrigue, adventure, despair, joy.
Read it. I don't think you'll regret it. ...more

This was such a wonderful tale, filled with historical facts about a forgotten era.
