This book was more meaningful and touching before I read about Mr. Thoreau's life during this time. He spent lots of time partying in town. His unique life made him a popular dinner guest, and he was invited to friend's houses for dinner frequently. Still, he did have time to think and work and write, and this is still a classic that will continue to stand among the greats. ...more
