I am continuing my tour of Agatha Christie's collected works. I'm taking my sweet time about it, but I'm enjoying the ride. I don't know if I ever realized how many books she'd written.
This was an entertaining mystery and a quick read. The ending surprised me despite the fact that I thought I knew what was going on. I love that about her books. I'm usually caught completely off guard by the solution to her mysteries. The characters in this tale were very intriguing and the narrative is filled wi ...more

“Mr. Hercule Poirot,—You fancy yourself, don’t you, at solving mysteries that are too difficult for our poor thick-headed British police? Let us see, Mr Clever Poirot, just how clever you can be. This was pretty good - this was the first Christie book that I had read, though I've seen many of the David Suchet films. The plot wasn't quite as "oh!" as Murder on the Orient Express or Cards on the Table. It was a good read, though, I enjoyed it. Love Christie's writing style.

This one didn't pull me in as much as the others, but it's a Christie, so there will be some things that are unexpected and throw a wrench into things. I need to lay off the Poirot and delve into some more Marple for the time being.

Hercule Poirot is taunted by a murderer. He claims that he will kill a person for each letter of the alphabet and cannot be stopped. Or can he? Hercule Poirot needs to discover who he is as quickly as possible to save lives. With D he is stopped. But is he really? Lots of hints and clues but still unable to figure it out until the end.
