This is the second book in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky.
Our oldest decided to read this series after reading several of the books in the associated Wolves of the Beyond series. I didn't realize that there are fifteen books in this series until I started to post my review here. I suppose we'll have some reading to do for quite some time.
