This is an entertaining adventure story for children. The narrative is dramatic and intriguing, but still appropriate for elementary school-age kids.
We met one of the authors of this story, Melissa Boyle Mahle, at a local library program, where she talked about her life as a spy in the CIA and taught about code breaking. Our girls enjoyed her talk and were excited about decoding the message she gave them. Our oldest read the book, but our youngest chose not to.
