I loved it! This story drags you in from the very beginning! There was not one thing I do not love about this book. The characters, story line and setting are so captivating!

My adventure with Sarah J. Maas books started with "A Court of Thorns and Roses" and I was so enchanted by this book, characters and whole world created by an author, that I started reading first book about Celaena Sardothien without doubt. As I expected "Throne of Glass" provided me great two days.
We meet the main character when she is going from mine, she was sentenced to work in for earlier murders, to meeting, where she gets a proposition which can give her freedom. We meet the main character when she is going from mine, she was sentenced to work in for earlier murders, to meeting, where she gets a proposition which can give her freedom. She is supposed to participate competition and after winning to become a royal assassin.
Celaena is strong, smart, pretty young for being assassin girl, who can not be pushed around. She is not irritating type of girl, who needs to be constantly saved, she can deal with many situations by herself. And that's her great advantage when ot comes to me.
Interesting story, fast-paced action and well developed characters don't let put the book away even for a moment. I liked "Throne of Glass" from the very beginning and it is one of my favourite books now.

Maas zaczęłam od "Dworu cierni i róż" i byłam tak oczarowana tą książką, jej bohaterami i całym światem stworzonym przez autorkę, że bez wahania sięgnęłam po pierwszy tom cyklu o Celaenie Sardothien. Zgodnie z moimi oczekiwaniami czytając "Szklany tron" tak po prostu przepadłam całe na dwa dni.
Główną bohaterkę poznajemy w momencie gdy z kopalni, na pracę w której została skazana za wcześniejsze zabójstwa, jest prowadzona na spotkanie, na którym dostaje propozycję, dzięki której może odzyskać wolność. Ma wziąć udział w turnieju, a po wygranej zostać królewskim zabójcą.
Celaena jest silną, sprytną, dość młodą jak na swój fach dziewczyną, która nie daje sobą pomiatać. Nie jest typem irytującej damy w opałach, którą ciągle trzeba ratować, potrafi sama radzić sobie z wieloma sytuacjami i to jest jak dla mnie jej wielki plus.
Ciekawa fabuła, nie zwalniająca ani na chwilę akcja i dobrze przedstawieni bohaterowie nie pozwalają ani na chwilę oderwać się od lektury. Mogę powiedzieć, że "Szklany tron" od samego początku przypadł mi do gustu i na pewno będzie jedną z moich ulubionych książek. ...more

Ok this book was truly amazing , I give it 5 stars , I fell in love with the characters , especially with Chaol , I shipped him with Celaena from the beginning , and the end was good , I'm glad that happened , I'll definitely be reading the second book , I want to see her get with Chaol to be honest , that would really make me happy lol , Dorian is kind of selfish and arrogant? , I don't know I just got that impression , anyways , Sarah J Maas really reached the top with this series , I'm glad I ...more

I actually still enjoyed this book, but I think less than I did before. It was good, wasn’t too exciting for me this time around. This book was a bit slower than I remembered, but I think it was good writing especially for SJM only being 16 when she wrote this. I loved the overall concept. I’m still undecided how I feel about Dorian and Chaol. I remembered in the past, that I liked them sooner, but for some reason, they just don’t grab my attention. Hopefully I get a better fe ...more

Throne of Glass is a beautifully written young adult novel which is a poetic and entrancing blend of fantasy and dystopian. Sarah J Maas has crafted a brilliant piece of writing which I would now classify as a must-read for all lovers of young adult fiction.
The book depicts the story of an 18 year-old assassin named Celaena who has spent a year in a futuristic slave camp but is given a ticket of freedom for a high price. She is invited by the prince of her prosperous nation to fight as his cham Throne of Glass is a beautifully written young adult novel which is a poetic and entrancing blend of fantasy and dystopian. Sarah J Maas has crafted a brilliant piece of writing which I would now classify as a must-read for all lovers of young adult fiction.
The book depicts the story of an 18 year-old assassin named Celaena who has spent a year in a futuristic slave camp but is given a ticket of freedom for a high price. She is invited by the prince of her prosperous nation to fight as his champion in a life or death competition where the reward is the position of personal assassin to the king of the nation. Celaena accepts his invitation and embarks on an incredible journey.
There is only one way to describe the exceptionally written plotline which has been masterfully woven by Sarah J Maas; brutally beautiful. The base of the storyline, the competition, adds a savage, dystopian element to the plot which works particularly well with all other elements of the plot, such as; romance, mystery and fantasy. The storyline has so many little moments which Sarah J Maas captures perfectly. These moments are worth the read – you will never be bored. The magnificent plot will leave the reader feeling a whirl of emotions that they can only experience in a good book.
The setting, whilst not being a major part of this novel, is clear and the reader is never left confused. The world building is well-described yet succinct, leaving the reader with a clear yet uncluttered picture of the setting. Sarah J Maas also leaves room for further development throughout the rest of the series.
The characters in Throne of Glass are relatable yet unique and brave. The reader feels genuine emotion and concern for their wellbeing as well as being drawn to both the male and female protagonists. A distinctly controversial love triangle is brewing and the result is highly anticipated.
The stand out element of this novel is clearly the writing style. The poetic enhancements, mysterious fantasy aura and enchanting style creates of one of the most brutally beautiful books I have ever read.
This is an amazing novel and I definitely classify it as a must read for EVERY YA reader.

No me puedo escribir todo lo que me gustó de este libro porque sería expandirme mucho y traería muchos spoilers.

Creo que bueno hasta ahora ha sido el mejor libro que he leído en lo que va del año ya que me gustó desde que empezó hasta que terminó y vaya como terminó.

I really enjoyed this book. Caelena was amazing, and I loved her fierce and competitive personality. The fact that she was able to win the competition was awesome. She freed herself, yasss. I despised how she was sent to the mines and how she was forced to work.

GIVE ME THE REST OF THE BOOKS NOW.
OMG, I really really enjoyed and liked this book. It was a little bit slow for me at first, maybe because Spring Break ended T-T or I wasn't in the mood for it I don't know. But after almost 120 something pages I really got into it. I want to give it a 5 stars but this one isn't that for me, it's more of a 4.5/5 stars which is great. It definitely lived to its hype which is also great and I really can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books. Also, I don ...more

Great book. I am so reading the series.

I read this book in 2014.. After reading Assassin's Blade i was inspired to re-read the series. There are so many references to Assassin's Blade in the first novel. I never really realized it before.

I feel like I understand Aelin so much more now. And just to see how much character development and also the writing just improves through the series. ...more
