Written by Caroline Kepnes, this novel follows Joe, a bookstore manager who meets a girl whom he thinks is perfect, and then proceeds to stalk her and work his way into her world to be her boyfriend, only to have everything fall apart.
The key word here is stalking. Stalking. This is not a novel for young kids (the language is crass, though it is that way to try and convey this guy and his thoughts), and honestly rather terrifying.

I'm going through a thriller phase right now. Over the last couple of months, I've read four or five of them and have enjoyed them all. After reading a review for Behind Closed Doors, I happened to see a comment on the review recommending this series, and that's all it took. I was sold.

Compelling story that draws the reader in. I was wary due to the second person, but it worked well here. Much like Gillian Flynn's works, there aren't many characters to like in this book. Joe, the narrator, is a psycho, but apparently quite charming. Sometimes he's so charming that I forget he's the bad guy. Then again, that's because the other characters were so awful that I didn't care what happened to them, and was maybe a little pleased when things didn't go well for them. Gripping, disturb
