What Members Thought

The cover doesn’t do much to draw attention or really give an impression of genre. The blurb doesn’t do much to pull a reader in, either.
Despite the premise, which could have been exciting if more showing and less telling (in the form of dialogue – the ten-year-old’s at odds with his age), the story left me meh as it didn’t engage my feelings or made me care about the MC.

Actual rating 3.5.
I really liked this story, but it was way too short. I think with a bit more length and development, I could have really got into this. I wanted to know about the woman and her family and more about the men who helped out before tending to bad deeds. It's hard not to give away spoilers on such a short story, but I've done the best I can.
Recommended for anyone with no time to really read, but must love westerns. ...more
