This was one of the IWSG Book Club reads for the month of May '22. I enjoyed this book and hope to continue the series. This is very reminiscent to the feeling I had reading Peter Pan for the first time or watching The Neverending Story movie for the first time.

Wonderful imaginary universe created by Yvette Carol. Threading lore, legends and traditions from her native New Zealand island into an intricate narrative of courage, innocence battling against pure evil.

This is the book club selection for May 2022.
I won’t be reading this. I’ve started making these decisions based on the book package (title, blurb and cover). “The Or'in of Tane (The Chronicles of Aden Weaver #1)”: I like that it is in a series, but the actual title isn’t something that I can pronounce or remember easily. Most middle-grade books have an easy-to-remember title that ten-year-olds can pronounce. I got great advice from an editor once where it comes to middle grade fantasy: keep the ...more
