An excellent book about writing a specific journey that celebrates relationships, community and love – no matter the genre you write.
If Wonder Woman is an excellent example of a woman cast in the Hero’s Journey, then Harry Potter is a great example of a boy/man cast in the Heroine’s Journey. Which just goes to show how different these journeys are and that they aren’t bound to physical gender.

This book is a study of the similarities and differences between the hero's journey (made popular by Joseph Campbell and many Hollywood movies), and the lesser known, but still valid heroine's journey, with a step-by-step guide to writing the plot of a heroine's journey. Using pop culture references as a guide, but also diving deep into ancient literature, Carringer makes a solid case for using the heroine's journey as a different option for storytelling.
