This book was simply amazing. Solomon is an expert of the slow burn. Each word precisely measured to maximize tension and draw you deeper into story.

I'm not all that surprised that I wasn't able to get through this since I'd heard from quite a few people that it is a bit graphic, but I was very sad regardless since I adore Solomon's other works. If you're not squeamish like I am, I think this is likely an amazing book. Solomon always has the best themes and such fantastic writing.

My third Rivers Solomon book! The protagonist of this reminded me of "Phoenix" from Okorafor's book. Parts of the story were also similar. By the end, I had so many questions and so many thoughts, that I immediately went back and listened to the whole book again.
