Jandy Nelson wrote and published two novels and I have read them both. The Sky Is Everywhere is her first novel but I read I'll Give You the Sun first. It is one of my most favourite novels of all time because of the characters and art in it. I'm an artist myself and reading I'll Give You the Sun for the first time was an experience I cherish. I think the best part of Nelson's writing, her stories are the characters. She has a way of writing the most interesting characters you will never want to ...more

I loved the look of this cover and had not read anything by Jandy Nelson so I was excited for the story - the romance of the year.
I truly loved the easy style of the book, and s I read I climbed right into the heart and soul and mind of Lennie and her family... I felt her pain, her loss, her love, her heartbeat, her guilt and shame as if it was mine... This book is just lovely; so beautifully written.

She finds solace in Toby, her sister’s boyfriend, who seems to be the only person in the whole world who understands her. But soon her relationship with Toby complicates her fledgling romance with Joe, the new boy in town, and sends her l

This is truly a beautiful story about the grieving of 17 year old Lennie Walker. It's such a sweet book that captures your attention from the first sentence.

Lennie is such a loveable charater you can't help to feel sorry for her- and there were times while I was reading the book when I wanted to scream out, "NO DON'T DO THAT!".

I loved the whole feel of the book and the pacing was perfect.

I'd recommend this book to girls age 13-17 who love romance novels.
