I would normally never take a second glance at a book like this. I would have seen the cheesy title and cover and turned my nose up at it. Luckily, so many book bloggers and booktubers had recommended this book and said to ignore the painfully ugly book cover, that I thought I'd give it a chance.

October 2- I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a book this was. The mythology and world-building were a nice start to the series--hope that it gets a bit fleshed out in the next books.

I cannot give this book less than five star for nostalgic reasons. It's still as good as I remember. Yes it's not a perfect book, Rose is very flaw and the teenage drama can be too much. Nonetheless, Rose is amazing, she can be tropey and at the same time she's very different from other YA heroines by the time the book came out. One of my favorite series. And Dimitri... ...more
