I'm really rounding up to a 4 here. There's so much to like about Jasmine Guillory's novels so far-- great characters who feel like real people out in the world who you root for. I love the female friendship in the books. I liked Carlos as a hero more than her previous book; he was pretty much a cinnamon roll. What I can't get past is that the conflict feels too flimsy to me, as did the conflict in her previous book. I want her characters to work through something genuinely thorny.

Lovely and genuinely touching. ‘The Proposal’ was even better than ‘The Wedding Date’ (and I LOVED ‘The Wedding Date.’)
I’m DNFing this book at 35%. I like the characters so much and I like that it’s a love letter to LA. But I’m finding it pretty boring. The conflicts seem very cut and dry. I may come back?
