What Members Thought

So, I actually enjoyed this more than Act Like It, Lucy Parker's first book which I understand many people feel a lot of squee for. To me, Pretty Face is more enjoyable because neither protagonist is an unrepentant jackass, so that's huge. And in comparison to several of the romance novels I've read recently there is absolutely no lying of any sort so I super appreciated that. There is a brief misunderstanding which I feel in a lesser novel would have been the primary conflict at the end of the

I think I liked Pretty Face even better than the first volume in Parker's London Celebrities series!

so good. emotionally cleansing. one of the characters deals with the death of a close loved one and I've recently lost my mom. probably biases me. but I thoroughly enjoyed the book....I love characters that are up front and honest with themselves AND each other.

A different flavor than Act like it. Different but as interesting. Less unpredictable, more cerebral. Still very satisfying as a romance. I was stuck with a Jude Law fantasy casting and it annoyed me to no end. Luc Savage finally made sense in a way when I went... oh...Mads fits this character. Lily and Luc are a good match for each other. Both have a wicked sense of humor and of self. Pretty face is an entertaining read.

Favorite quote:
“I don’t believe that you’re somehow completed by romantic love. You aren’t born half a person, doomed to drift through life unfulfilled until you find someone who can validate you. You’re a whole person with a whole life, that you might choose to share with another person. Or you might not. Your body and mind is your own. Your happiness is your responsibility and your right.”
