Notes:
I love System Apocalypse. That means I'll try anything Tao Wong writes but this book was rather disappointing. It's a bare bones LitRPG without a clear plot, well developed characters or setting. I'm going to finish the first three of the series but I doubt I will continue after that. ...more

I really enjoyed this book.
It's not a game, but the world has game-like elements, which showcases the story and the effort the author has put into the characters and the world building. There's a few times where things are repeated throughout the story, but not enough to be anything but a minor distraction.
The story does feel short, but that's normally the case with novels I really enjoy. Looking forward to the next in the series. ...more

Hmm, lacks a bit in details and character development. Relationship between MC and elf girl are cute, but I don’t think any of their interests are really shared beyond healing, and we know little to nothing about their pasts. Book lacks the overarching feel of a bigger arc in the first installment. Nothing too unique in this genre besides Gifts and their costs.
