All right, two things here.
First off, I loved the story.
Secondly, the editing and proofing in this book was terrible. It claims it was professionally edited, but if it was, someone remind me never to use this editor, grammar errors all over the place, and even one place (near the end of the book) where it even used the wrong character's name when talking about them. That's unacceptable for something that was supposedly professionally edited.

Being relatively new to the genre, it took me a while to get oriented to the characters, plot and subplots. It all came together about 50% of the way through the book and then I finished it off! Although #2 in a series, it was a good introduction to the author's Tower of Gates series. ...more
