The story was certainly timely. The message of tolerance was a good one and having it told by a tree old enough to have seen intolerance of other nationalities was a nice plot device. I thought the naming of the animals was more distracting than amusing. I listened to the story on audiobook and the narration was just OK.
Lovely book about acceptance, recognizing your family roots, and the power of coming together for a worthy cause. This is a quick read with a powerful message...especially in our current time.
