One Shot – Two Kills, Blood Makes the Grass Grow!

Wow! Great start to this military mystery. Immediately I was drawn to the story from the first page when I recognized my basic training base Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Being a Disabled Army Veteran myself I totally connected with the story and the characters and it brought back lots of great memories of great times, however, it brought back a little sadness because of the loss of a soldier.

The story relates military experiences with on the job action One Shot – Two Kills, Blood Makes the Grass Grow!

Wow! Great start to this military mystery. Immediately I was drawn to the story from the first page when I recognized my basic training base Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Being a Disabled Army Veteran myself I totally connected with the story and the characters and it brought back lots of great memories of great times, however, it brought back a little sadness because of the loss of a soldier.

The story relates military experiences with on the job action of transporting an Iraqi prisoner by helicopter only to be shot down by on coming fire explosive action. Barely living through the wreckage and seeing the death of her comrades along with their prisoner escaping, Emily still has a job to do and with the help of her new found friend and partner Dakota the trained Collie, Emily hunts down the escape prisoner from the helicopter crash.

I have to state this because it brings up my feelings towards Iraq, I cannot stand those waste of human flesh Iraqi’s. As a veteran I love my country and others may not feel the same way as I do but losing a battle buddy to a bunch of idiots who think that our country and its people are a bunch of infidels drives me crazy with hatred towards them and there is no civilizing that country over there and in my opinion the military should just save our country a bunch of money and just blow that whole country region to hell. We should not waste another American death on that country – PERIOD!

Ok, now that I got that out of my system, I know this is just a story so I have calmed down. The writing is smooth and becomes very visual immediately to make you feel as though you are a part of the action. The characters connected beautifully as though the author had experienced the action herself.

The story line starts out serious and ends up very humorous with Dakota the dog having the last laugh and fish to eat. Though the story leaves it open for the next book, I am very interested to find out if Emily and her partner will catch the escaped Iraqi prisoner and seek justice. Great Read!
