I loved this simple yet amazing love story. I like how the tree continuously gives to the boy throughout his entire life, although the tree is sacrificing more and more parts of itself throughout the years until it is just a stump. However, the tree continues to give because seeing the boy happy makes the tree happy. I think there is a powerful underlying message of sacrificial love in this story, which would be beneficial to children as they can realize what it is like to give and show love to

This illustrated poem is a journey of a little boy and his tree. They grow through life together, but when the boy is all grown up he stops seeing his tree. He only returns to gain things from it. Because of the tree's love for the boy, it gives all it has to him.

What a great view of selfless vs selfishness. I highly recommend this book for children of all ages. The story is intriguing and full of morals.
