A very quite realistic book nowadays (jan/2017) and probably George Orwell wouldn't have imagined that fiction will become reality one day.

A movie was made based on this book: 1984, with John Hurt (R.I.P. died today - 28/01/2017), Richard Burton, Suzanna Hamilton.

This is a very good book, and as usual, i find it difficult to write about very good books (and very bad ones too!)
I had read this novel previously in two different Arabic translations, this time I was lucky to find the original in a second-hand book stall in Alexandria, and reading it was a very enjoyable experience.

George Orwell did a very good job in writing a bleak and depressing while at the same time a though-provoking, dynamic novel, with well-written characters. Each detail in the novel

I should have read this book a long time ago. I don't know how I missed it in school. I found it to be brilliant but so depressing I just wanted to throw it across the room after I finished it. I'm glad that Orwell's vision didn't come true in 1984. And I hope to God it never does. ...more
