In The Red Tent, Anita Diamant writes the story of Genesis' Jacob and his family from the point of view of his only daughter, Dinah. While the menstrual tent does play a significant role in the book, the whole book is not centered on menstruation. I really enjoyed this story and got caught up in it. It has been a while since I read about Jacob in the Bible let alone spend time in the Old Testament. The writing flowed so well and the story seemed so real that I started to confuse certain parts so I went back and re-read that part of the Bible last night. Although fiction {reminding myself}, this book gives an interesting perspective of the intricate lives of women during biblical times.
