The beginning is a bit rough (slow-going), but once the story got moving, I was hooked. You don't have to be a fan of opera to enjoy it either. I liked this book for all the reasons you might read why others hated it. I loved the impossibility of it and I thought the relationships were real and understandable.

Very captivating story. It reminds me of the murders of 770 schoolchildren by terrorists in Beslan, Russia, in 2004.
