This book was so freaking amazing? I spent so long wanting to read it and despite the insanely high expectations I had for it I was so happy with it?
PLOT
The initial premise of this book is that these guys Eli and Victor are college roommates and try to gain EO (extraordinaries) powers, because you know, what else are academics to do with their time? The other part of the book is when Victor breaks out of prison ten years after all this trying to exact revenge on Eli because ~somehow~ they ...more

Oh my word this lived up to the hype for me. So villainous. I was afraid I wouldn't like this Slytherin-y novel since I'm but a humble hufflepuff. But I was totally on board. The characters were so complex and dynamic. the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. the World building was on point and painted in shades of grey and black and red which suited the story so well. My favorite aspect was how this book explored themes of "What makes a monster" , "how do we become villains" and just general "H

I have spent all year wanting to read Vicious.. and the book gods blessed me by putting it on sale for Kindle eBook. Yes, I could have waited until 2018 to get my hands on the new cover but I was impatient and needed it immediately.
Despite having severely hyped it up myself Vicious didn't let me down. The pacing was incredible, I flew through this in three days (would have been two but I got distracted by Netflix). I simply needed to know where things were going, to discover more about Victor an ...more

**3.5 stars** I'm sad because I didn't like this as much as I'd hoped to. I liked the characters more than the plot, but I was never all that invested. Also, I wasn't blown away by the writing. I liked it enough to want to read another of Victoria's books, but probably not anytime soon.

For a book that's supposed to be about people with super powers, Vicious has a very good grasp on the good, bad, and ugly sides of ordinary humanity. Neither Eli or Victor were so ExtraOrdinary that they could shake off greed, ambition, egomania, or any of the other lovely traits often associated with medical students, but they were also moral (in their own ways), driven, passionate, and cap or of love. Nothing wins me over in a book like a morally gray character, and VE Schwab filled this entir

I love Schwab’s writing, and this was definitely an entertaining read. I thought the book explored an interesting concept, including what makes someone truly a human. My only real critique is that it was a little dark for me in this season of life. It was kind of hard to root for anyone, in my opinion. I was rooting for the dog. lol I think I will probably read book 2 because I still thought it was a good story, but it’s not my favorite of Schwab’s work.
