Fun twist on a vampire story. Jody wakes up under a Dumpster and realizes she's been turned into a vampire. She's left to sort it all out with the help of Tommy, a 19 year old aspiring writer/supermarket stocker. Funny stuff. ...more

I liked this book. This should not be confused for loving this book, or for a ringing endorsement. If you love Christopher Moore, you'll probably read it anyway. If you never have, start with Lamb, and leave this one for later.

I've had the book for a while. Apparently long enough to lend it to a friend, who lent it to a friend, who lent it to someone they knew slightly less well than that, and the friend tracked down a copy that was like the one I originally handed out and gave it back. In all,

I couldn't decide whether to put this in "vampire" or "humor!" Though it is a vampire story, I elected "humor," because that's why I originally read it. One day home sick and I was able to move this from my TBR to my Done pile. Funny, not as much meat to the story as some other Moore I've read. I'm wondering how he managed to make sequels for this story. ...more

As with each Christopher Moore novel I've read, I find myself unwilling to put them down.

In Bloodsucking Feinds, we meet Jodie, a woman who was turned into a vampire against her will, and left to figure it all out for herself. Being the brainy redheaded siren that she is, she throws herself at Tommy, a guy pulling the graveyard shift at a grocery store, and enlists him as her boyfriend/assistant/sex slave.. and together, with the help of the Emperor and the Animals, they try to figure it all out

Loved it until the last page ... could have been a 5. Very entertaining the way only Moore can be.

This was my first Christopher Moore book. Overall, I enjoyed it and would pick up another one of his books. Although, I am getting sick of reading stories about vampires! :)
