Brave New World

I will always be amazed whenever I read a science-fiction classic such as this, and find that the author actually had grasped a figment of truth in his predictions. To have such a clear understand of where the world is heading, is equally fascinating and terrifying.
In Bradbury's future books are being burned; and the only stimulation there is left on the planet is one of stupid interactive soap operas. A future without books is almost too sad to bear - and the effect it has on people is inevitab ...more

But I guess my biggest problem was the lack of descriptions - I wanted to know more details about the dystopian society and the protagonist. I kept comparing it to 1984 (wh ...more

I don't know whether to give this one a 1 or a 2, because I was really disappointed by it, but I can see why some people might like it. The writing style wasn't really my cup of tea though.
A funny aside - 451F is supposed to be the temperature at which paper self-ignites. Unfortunately Ray Bradbury didn't do his research properly - paper self-ignites at 451C - 842F. ...more
