Read this for the last of my theology classes. Probably gave it 5 stars instead of 4.5 because I was just happy to read a fiction book instead of more dense theology.
We were required to trace five themes throughout the book and write 1500 words about it. Honestly, I could have easily written 3000. There's a lot of depth to this work - both theological and literary. It would be easy to read this quickly, but do yourself a favor and don't do that. I am not Christian. I’m not even religious. But you don’t have to be to see the beauty in this story. There is a lot of suffering and anguish, brought on partly by the main character’s hubris, and a brilliant transformation and epiphany.
