Although I've had this book on my shelf for years, I never felt motivated to read it. Once my bookshelf became too full for new books, I gave it a shot, with the intention to donate it after reading.

Ridley is the type of character that infuriates me (should have known, considering the review from Cosmopolitan plastered on the cover). She seems to see herself as an independent, feminist woman, but she doesn't act like one. Instead, she relies on men to take care of her, and narrates poor decision ...more

Shelves: where-are-you-reading-challenge, 2012

This book had a really interesting premise and was a light fast paced read. But it was very predictable. I had "solved" the mystery pretty early so I was reading to find out where the author would take it.

If you like mysteries and a light read, I would recommend it. It was predictable but the story/backstory is very interesting and makes you think about other adoptions and if they are legitimate. We all know money buys and people will go far for what they want.
