A trip that would take us at once away from the glittering capitals of Europe towards the Black Sea, where we would dock at Varna and begin that search in the rural countryside of the Carpathians.

This book has been gathering dust on my shelves for a long, long time. I kept on planning to read it but something else just came up all the time. Anyway, I think the general idea about Anne Rice as a classic vampire story-teller is a lot more captivating than her actual books. It's only my second book of hers, the first one being 'Blackwood Farm', which I read in 2004, and obviously I haven't exactly been following The Vampire Chronicles chronologically, not that it matters much.
