I'm a huge fan of Coelho which may have been my problem with this book - my expectations may have been too high. For me, something was lacking here. Coehlo's books are often about spirituality, the journey in life, and the lessons you can take from it. In The Witch, I had a hard time seeing the lesson, although I know that was what he was going for. I just felt no connection to the protagonist, nor what the meaning was behind her actions.
