I had read the 1st Stone Soldier book:
and really liked it. It has one of the longest fight sequences I have ever read, between the Stone Soldier, Colonel Mark Kenslir, and this shape-changing monster (dragon). Took at least 15 to 20% of the book. I loved it. I then read two of the prequel stories
