Good book (not a bad movie either but as always the book is better). From when Forsyth was really Forsyth.
My mother was a high school librarian, which gave her a great sense of literature that appealed to teenage boys. She introduced me to John D. MacDonald, Walter Lord, Alistair MacLean, and, of course, Frederick Forsyth. These authors dominated much of my pleasure reading outside of the LOTR series and likely fueled my love of history as well. Revisiting "The Day of the Jackal" as a more mature reader, I now appreciate it with a deeper understanding of the context of the times. In the early 1960s,
