This was my first read by Nalini Singh and the first book in her new Guild Hunters series. It was just fantastic. I received this as a Christmas present from a girlfriend who has been trying to get me to read this for months. I so glad I took the plunge!

Singh’s new series is very exciting, dark & fresh! The hero is sexy Archangel Raphael, who runs the territory of New York. Fit body, gorgeous strong wings (which actually consist of muscles/tendons) and black hair that tends to fall slightly ove

I keep wavering between 3 and 4 stars on this book. I really liked most of the characters, the ending was great, but there was very little action to speak of - not until the last quarter of the book. This is actually a 3 1/2 from me. I can't say I really liked it but I DID like it. I enjoyed the writing, the story (although I thought it lagged somewhat in the middle) I can't say all of this worked for me.
I found the chemistry between the 2 main charcaters less than hot and Raphael didn't work for me as a hero. Enjoyed the ending very much though and I am looking forward to the next installment. As a romance it was a fail. As Urban Fantasy it worked.

I liked the world building enormously and it helped that the heroine was a no nonsense grounded person even though all sorts of outlandish things were going off in her face. And I really liked the concept of angels not being so angelic after all.

Loved this story. Wish that the world was more fleshed out. Hope there are more books in the series.
