Ahhh....I don't even feel like writing a review for this one except to say "Move over Cam, and make room for Harry!"
I found out something about myself--I love a romance where the hero really needs for someone to love him, whether he realizes it or not. And handsome hotelier Harry Rutledge (early 30s), who both wanted and feared affection (due to a heartbreaking childhood)--he captured my heart. Yes, he started out as a manipulative, selfish devil, (the way he got Poppy (23) to marry him), but h ...more

Being a part of the eccentric Hathaway family, Poppy Hathaway had always wanted something safe and ordinary. Our English beauty had her heart set on a respectable peer, Michael Banning and is more than willing to wait for him until he can get permission from his father to marry Poppy.
But fate intervened in the form of a mischievous ferret and Poppy found herself in the sights of the mysterious hotelier, Harry Rutledge. Just a few minutes in Poppy's company and Harry knew what he wants - he wante ...more

"In the fairy tale you mentioned last night, I would probably be the villain. But it's possible the villain would treat you far better than the prince would have." Harry
The third book in The Hathaways series by Lisa Kleypas. Harry Rutledge is the owner of the hotel that Poppy Hathaway and her family are staying in.
Harry was a prince in disguise as far as I'm concerned. He knew what he wanted and it was Poppy. And then he did whatever was necessary for Poppy to be his. Maybe not the smartest thi ...more

I find it so hard giving stars to Romance novels was this as good as some of my other non romance 4 star reads NO but It was a 4 star romance for me.
After reading book 1 and 2 I was happy to be back with the Hathaways they are a quirky family with lots of love. I LOVE LEO and can not wait for him to have his own book. I would read the books for Leo alone. I also find Bea so cute but she seems to act much younger than 19.

I bought this one on impulse at a drugstore. I hadn't bought Kleypas in a while because her first contemporary was so godawful, and then she seemed to be intent on writing about Gypsies in all her historicals...this was a nice return to what I like about her. Not great, but definitely solid.

Loved Poppy and Harry's story. Lisa Kleypas writes great romance and she's one of my favorite authors.

Loved it, liked her for her patience, but my faves are still Win's and Beatrix stories. Harry was a very enigmatic hero, highly intellectual, fiercely possessive, single-minded, and with a traumatic past. I am not sure it could have worked out so well for him in real life, what with his jealousy, overbearing manner and possessiveness - Poppy would have had to be a saint to put up with it. This bad a case would be cured not by love, but maybe after years of intensive therapy. Made for a fun story
