Call me an idiot, but I felt very lost in the beginning of the book, as I couldn't quite catch the world that was being presented to me. Fortunately, I managed to get the gist of it - not all but enough - halfway through the story and now I can't wait to see what's next in store for kick-ass Kate.

I get why people have such mad love for the series. I struggled at the first of the book visualizing Ilona's world, but the last 1/2 of the book was awesome. Looking forward to the next book and where her and Curran are going.

Just as good 4 years later. It's interesting looking back to see the slow & steady world and character building. Such a great writing duo

This was a book that I decided to try because so many people here on Goodreads said it was so good. When I first started it I wasn't sure that I was going to jump on the band wagon, but I have to say that I'm getting convinced. When I got to where she really got into the investigation that I started getting into the book and from there to the end it was really good.

I have been meaning to start this series for a while, but kept putting it off for some reason...I’m really sorry I did that! Kate Daniels is a bad ass and the world Ms. Andrews created is amazing. There is some amazing politics within the various factions that I look forward to see play out in future books. As for Kate, I am ready to dive in to the next chapter of her life to see where she’s headed. The only reason I couldn’t give this a five-star rating is because there were a few plot points t

I'm re-reading this, originally read 4/5/09.
Adding a different version so I can count it on my yearly challenge :)
I actually enjoyed this more this time around, I love Curran... ...more
