I think this book is the beginning of a great series! It's taken me a while to get to read this, and I'm excited to see where Kate's story will go from here.

Ms. Andrews has created a completely different world involving shifters, magic, and some of the weirdest and most disgusting vampires I've ever read! It did take me a while to understand fully what was going on, but once I was able to follow the ins and outs of the story, I enjoyed it a lot.

Kate is actually pretty kick ass, but level-headed.

What can I possibly say about this book or this series that hasn't been said before in a far better and more eloquent manner? I will just say I liked the whole crazy world, with the magic, shifters and crazy vampires and stuff and that Kate is one tough lady! ...more

Here kitty kitty kitty...

I am reading this series for the third time, now in audio, before I get caught up with the latest book. The narrator, Renée Raudman, does a fabulous narration job with this series. She has a nice moderate voice for Kate... and easily slips into the great and growly Curran.

After reading Magic Bites, I really found myself puzzled on what rating to give this book. After much deliberation, I decided on a rating of 4/5 stars.

My reasoning:

Though the book is very fast paced, the beginning was quite a bore-fest. That being said, there is light at the end of the tunnel so don't you dare give up hope! As soon as you get to around page 40, the action begins and pretty much never ends. You are thrown into one action packed sc

May be a 3.5 not quite 4. I was a bit disappointed because I've heard so many praises about this series. I was having trouble follow thru the first several chapters of the book but it got better in the end.

I like Kate character and that's pretty much it. Didn't feel the real connection/attaction between Kate and Curran at all. WTH? I was expecting fireworks. Dang it.

I will read the next book, and hope it's better than the first one. If not, I'm moving on.
