This just may be one of the best Star Wars novels I’ve ever read. The reason may actually surprise you. Read on to find out why this story taking place between Revenge of the Sith, and A New Hope shoots right towards the top of my list!
When you think Star Wars, you probably think big lightsaber duels, exotic planets, high action and lots of adventure. What you find in this novel, is really none of those. The novel takes place on Tatooine, and fe ...more

I really enjoyed this story. It started a little slow, but really got going. I love that every time Obi went to town, something happened. He's trying to live a quiet life, but that's just not happening.

Over the past few years, there seems to have been a move away from moving the Star Wars universe forward as much and more to filling in the gaps in its vast history. The recent Into the Void was one such and Star Wars: Kenobi is another, taking us back to the years just after the fall of the Republic, exploring Obi-wan Kenobi’s first few years on Tatooine. Finding himself dragged into a brewing conflict between the human settlers and the native Sand People, Obi-wan is forced to draw upon all of

What happened to Obi Wan after he hid baby Luke on Tatooine from Vader and Palpatine? How did Obi Wan Kenobi become Ben Kenobi? How did Obi Wan deal with his failure and his 'killing' of Anakin? Answers to these questions are explored in this novel as is Tusken culture.
The answers were OK, but superficial, and I was hoping for so much more from this pivotal event in the far, far away galaxy. The history here needs expanding and could easily be a series. Will it?

This was a fun book, although i would love to know how then spent the next 17 years and 9 months of his time on Tatooine. I was under the impression that this book would cover the whole time but it does not. That being said, it was a fun Western story about life on Tatooine and a more in depth look at the Sand People. A quick and enjoyable read and left the story open for more Kenobi tales

The best Star Wars book I've read since the New Jedi Order. Annileen is a GREAT character - one of the first female SW characters I've liked in a long time. This book finally had the right balance of action, introspection, and relationships - a balance that Star Wars has struggled with lately.
I listened to the audio, and the audio is terrific. Miller does an excellent Kenobi. ...more
