Reread: Leaning towards no. Maybe if Choice of One is good.
Recommend to: It's probably worth it to fans of Timothy Zahn. It has some carry over characters to some of his other works.
Careful reading other reviews on this book because there are huge spoilers for the entire EU that people didn't hide.

I enjoyed the various threads spun in this book. A bit predictable, but it is Star Wars. The story provided some background for future events and some of the main SW characters, such as Mara and her bad self, and it also gave the stormies a warm fuzzy lovable side.

This is one of my favorite Star Wars books ever. And that's saying quite a bit, as I read waaay too many of them. I'm not really surprised though, Timothy Zahn is an amazing author and one of my personal favs. This book does a great job linking the familiar stories of Luke, Han, and Leia to the main plot of 5 Stormtrooper deserters to the enigmatic Emperor's Hand. It has a fairly satisfying ending, but I can't WAIT for the sequel coming in summer!

Interesting addition to the SW Expanded Universe. Taking place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, it is told from the perspective of Stormtrooper deserters who encounter, and ultimately work with Mara Jade.
It is a quick read and is the first of (at least a) two book series by Timothy Zahn.
Recommended for SW fans.

I hadn't read Star Wars in ages, and this (half re-)read was a nice way to go back to one of the universes I like the most.
Timothy Zahn remains my favourite Star Wars writer, and I'll now head off to read his 'Choices of One'. ...more
