What Members Thought
This was a very fast paced action packed western with a main character named Mattie Ross that the reader will never forget. Charles Portis also has a writing style all his own and one that keeps you engaged.

I went to see the movie because the book was simply one of the best stories I had ever read. The movie was good but the book was better.
Loved this book. The scene between Mattie Ross and the horse trader is a classic. This scene alone is worth the price of the book. True Grit is filled with such scenes. The scene with Rooster on the stand in court is also great.
