I absolutely enjoyed this book & the illustrations/art. The fairytale 'Snow White & Rose Red' has been a personal favorite of mine since my childhood. It is a special fairytale for sisters.
This book has so many things I love; fairies, enchanted woods, a magical library (!), mushrooms, and animals.
The whimsical illustrations between the chapters enhance the descriptions. And the 'sketchbook' portion at the end is great too. I appreciated an extra picture of Daisy the black goat.

A fantastic mix of two of my favorite things; a wonderful fairytale retelling and it's written by Emily Winfield Martin. I have long been a fan of Martin's artwork, which is featured through out the book. Martin's Snow & Rose was just as I had suspected it would be; whimsical, magical, and enchanting.

DNF'd 70% I just couldn't get myself through this book. I don't know why. I absolutely adore fairytale retellings but maybe this one was too close to the original? Whatever the reason, this book is making me really slumpy and I'm not about that life. Maybe I'll finish at a future point. ...more
