These Penguin Children's 60s booklets are great for sticking in your handbag as an emergency read! ;-)
This one has four Robin Hood stories, introducing us to Robin himself, Little John, Maid Marian and Friar Tuck. Roger Lancelyn Green's version of the Robin Hood legend is classic and timeless.

Loved this as a child! I remember reading the first chapter to my parents. Reading through this library copy now, I find that I remember much of the narrative, word for word, and the illustrations are familiar too. I was pretty young, but Green clearly made an impression on me.
